Project Kealahou collaborates with the state’s child-serving agencies, communities and families to nurture healthy relationships, well-being and community connections for Hawaii’s girls.

Our vision is for girls who have experienced trauma to navigate new pathways to balanced, responsible, connected lives now—and pass down this way of life to future generations.

May is Mental Health Month!

We’re working on collaborations with Hawai`i’s mental health community all month, and especially during National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week (May 5-11), that raise awareness about trauma and the importance of children’s mental health — beginning at birth and through adolescence. Crystal Brown, one of our peer support specialists, is featured in the national SAMHSA virtual event video celebrating National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day on May 9th. She shares some of her personal story of resilience and social connectedness with courage and grace. Watch now!
